This scholarship will provide travelling support for Master of Teaching candidates who are undertaking a regional, rural or remote Indigenous placement in Australia, or international placement in an Early Years setting.
The School of Early Childhood Fund was established in 2001 following the wind up of the Institute of Early Childhood Studies Trust after the amalgamation of the Melbourne College of Advanced Education with the University in 1989.
Value:
- $100/per placement day for Indigenous or rural placements (E&AL or WIL)
- $200/per placement day for international placements.
Eligibility
To be eligible to apply for this scholarship you need to be:
- enrolled in the Master of Teaching (Early Childhood) or Master of Teaching (Early Childhood and Primary); AND
- undertaking a regional, rural or remote Indigenous teaching placement in an Early Years setting, or an international placement in an Early Years setting
Selection Criteria
Eligible applicants will be assessed on academic merit, commitment to the teaching profession and motivation for undertaking the travel related program. Financial need may also be taken into consideration.

Conditions of the scholarship
Should your travel opportunity be unable to proceed, or in the event that you are no longer able to participate, you will no longer be eligible to receive this scholarship and any monies paid would need to be returned to the University.
